Rise to Greatness
What is Rise to Greatness?
An extraction ARPG. Twelve players in four teams of three enter a generated dungeon with gear they can lose, grow stronger inside the raid, and try to get out with more than they brought.
How do I get in?
Through the waitlist. Confirm your address, and when a wave opens you receive a one-time invite key. During the alpha, creating an account needs a key.
What does it cost?
The alpha is free. Rise to Greatness will be a paid game once it reaches Early Access; the price is not set yet.
Is it pay-to-win?
No. Money will only ever buy cosmetics, and a cosmetic cannot carry a stat — an automated test enforces that. Renown, which you earn by playing, buys convenience and never strength.
Can I play alone?
Yes. Queue alone, or as a party of up to three.
Will I meet AI players?
Yes, while the population is small: raids are topped up with AI-controlled players. They are always labelled [AI] on their nameplate, so you know whether that silhouette is a person.
Will it be on Steam?
Not for now. Rise to Greatness is distributed directly — from this site, with its own accounts and its own servers.
Which platforms does it run on?
Windows and Linux. macOS is not planned yet. A Steam Deck can run the Linux build added as a non-Steam game, but it is not a supported target, and text fields have no on-screen keyboard there.
Do I need to be online?
Yes. Every raid runs on a dedicated server, so there is no offline mode. The servers are in Germany.
Can I use a controller?
Yes — keyboard and mouse or a gamepad, with prompts to match the device you use.
Which languages?
English and German.
Why does Windows warn me about the download?
Because the Windows build is not code-signed yet. Verify the file first; if the checksum and signature match, the file is the one I published. How to verify a download
What do you store about me?
For the waitlist: your e-mail address, the language you signed up in, which consent text you agreed to, and when you signed up, confirmed and were invited. This site sets no cookies and runs no tracking. Privacy
Who makes it?
Falk Hähner from Cologne, Germany: one developer, building the game in the open as a private project. Its servers are hosted on gh0stcloud, a platform run by gh0stservice GmbH.
